Evgenia Arbugaeva is a freelance photographer from Russia. She was born in the Siberian town Tiksi but moved to another city at the age of 8. Evgenia graduated from the International Center of Photography Photojournalism and Documentary Program in 2009. She now works as a freelance photographer in both Russia and the USA (New York).

Evgenia made a photographic serie about Tiksi. In the days of the Soviet Union, Tiksi was an important military and scientific base. But after the fall of the USSR Evgenia's family and many others left for a bigger city. Nowadays the town is pretty much abandoned.

I was reading Monki Magazine and came across an interview with Ulrika Kestere, an artist from Sweden. I followed the link to her blog, Ulicam, and my oh my... this girl got some serious talent!

Ulrika's a great photographer, making stunning pictures of people, nature and animals. Her photos are funny, dreamy and very fairytale-like. Next to being a photographer Ulrika also draws - extremely well, if I may say. Go see for yourself!

Villa Veth is a customized villa near Hattem, a town in The Netherlands. It is situated on a large parcel of land by a forest.
The house itself and the mostly customized furnishings were designed by Liong Lie of the Rotterdam-based architect bureau 123DV.

The ground floor and principal living area of the two-storey residence is divided into two. On one side are the master bedroom and two kids’ bedrooms, all with separate bathrooms plus two small studios.
The other half the south-facing side of the floor plan is taken up by an open-concept living area that includes the kitchen, dining and living spaces. One wall of the living area is constructed of frameless curved glass, enabling a seamless connection with the outdoors.
The living area opens up to a terrace. The first floor also includes a small separate play and TV-room, a laundry room, and a powder room.

During a journey to Rajasthan (India) in 2008, artist Karen Knorr focussed on the upper caste culture of the Rajput and its relationship to the other. The photographic serie which came from it, 'India Song', considers men's space and women's space in Mughal and Rajput palaces, havelis and mausoleums.
Knorr photographed the interiors and animals seperately and later combined them into one image.

I envy the people who live in this house. Not only is it standing in Sydney, Australia, it's also one of the most beautiful houses I have ever seen. Both from the outside and the inside.

This Victorian house, better known as The Skylight House, won the Australian Institute of Architects, NSW Chapter Award 2011 Residential Architecture Award for Alterations and Additions. And it's not hard to figure out why. What a beauty!

This incredibly stunning house stands on the hillside above Lake Lugano, Switzerland. The house views upon the lake and the historic village of Brusino Arsizio. The residence and office, designed by Milan-based architect Jacopo Mascheroni consists of two sections: a rounded glass pavilion and a reinforced concrete structure that is partially inserted into the mountain. A 3,700 square-foot glass house forms the most visible part of the residence and resembles a viewing pavilion of a major sightseeing attraction. It is an open-concept living space, with a white-walled central section that contains the kitchen, bathroom, stairway, storage and mechanical room.

Normally I don't blog things concerning beauty, but for the Deborah Lippman Get This Party Started Collection I'll make an exception (I love glitter, you see). Although we're not close to the party season yet, like the fashion brands Deborah Lippman thinks ahead.

The Get This Party Started collection features three glitter polishes: Happy Birthday, a glitter with lots of color; Candy Shop, a bubblegum pink glitter; and Forget You, a dark black glitter.
It's a bit of a pricey collection though: the set retails for $42 (I'm a fan of cheap nail polish). Available at major beauty stores and webshops.

Patouf is a Swedish clothing label created by Anna Angseryd in 2007. According to Patouf's website, Angseryd is 'a romantic at heart' and therefore 'moves confidently between sophisticated French cuts and 60/70s vintage, creating feminine chic yet with a girly touch.' Patouf was awarded the title Rookie of the Year by the Swedish Fashion council in 2009.
